Ten Years and Still Counting...

PEOPLE! My GIRL turns 22 today!! Since I can't be in McKinney to CeLeBrAtE the day that I wait FOREVER for every year (her birthday takes seriously FOREVER to arrive each year) I thought i'd do a little tribute to Nicole on her BDAY!

Here's a little trip down memory lane...aka a friendship shrine.

TBT to 2008 at our 8th grade farewell, yes I know good teeth and both of us have those GOOD BANGS.

To 2012 on the sidelines of a McKinney Boyd football game..

To 70's day senior year..

To 2009 when we graduated from High School and then  made one of the BEST decisions ever and became COLLEGE roommates (people who say don't room with your best friend...we proved you wrong)

To taking our friendship to the next level by becoming Zeta Tau Alpha "sisters" on Bid Day!

To random days in college when we would match and make everyone believe that we were just "that close" that we "accidentally" happened to match... about once every week.

And that time when we bought ridiculous spice girls shoes because there just happened to be two left... in our size...

~*To 2012 when you FINALLY turned 21*~

& then that time in December when you GRADUATED from college.

To Summer 2013...

I thank God for our friendship everyday. Happy Happy Birthday NICOLE!!!

Peace, Love & TBT!!!

Sunday Funday

Today we had a Half-Day today to explore Indiana. Our night life destination: Broad Ripple Road. This area kind of reminded me of Austin, Texas -- complete with a few critters, some art and some live music!!

We found a restaurant on the canal & I ate a mature grilled cheese...Kinda grown up, but yeah not really....
(bloggers post their meals so I thought I would too)

And our night was completed with a stop to a local ice cream shop!!

The Great Unknown

My current theme song is by one of my favorite bands Needtobreathe, called Keep Your Eyes Open

It says, "If you never leave home, never let go, You'll never make it to the great unknown." I have this song on repeat and play it every morning while I get ready (I actually have to brush my hair and wear real clothes for this job - whattt!?) and it just makes me even MORE excited to begin my adventures on the road and be exposed to so many new people, places and ideas. So much in the world is unknown, but thats just the thrill of life (okay look at me trying to be Aristotle with the deep thoughts) and I can't wait for whats in store!

I am taking a HUGE risk with this job. Leaving Texas. My home. TCU. My family. My friends. But I know if I didn't take this job, I doubt I would've ever left the Lone Star State.

Peace, love & motivational jamzzz.

Why Me!

As you may or may not know, I am from THE #2 best city to live in the United States of America according to CNN <- argue with me, that's fine, but theres my "proof". Well, for training our hotel is in Carmel, Indiana - the NUMBER ONE. I don't have anything against Indiana. But I DO have a problem with this city that took the title for the number one!  But first is the WoRsT, second is the BEST so BOOYAH! ... Drama... I really am grateful for this opportunity and our hotel AKA "the TLC mansion" is nice, BUT what are the chances! I am on a mission to discover the "best" parts about this place during the next two weeks! I'll be arranging a city council meeting ASAP to bring McKinney to the TOP!

Does Carmel have:
1. A Bachelor winner?
2. The FIRST SOLAR Walmart?
3. American Idol Top 5 Finalist?
4. The creator of Words With Friends ?

..didn't think so!

I <3 McKinney!

Peace, love & urban city probzzz.

This may or may not...

be a huge RIP in my carry on  (they checked for me because it was "too big", so that rocked). Got off my flight in Indiana, finally found the baggage claim, spotted my bag, I grab it to yank it out and what do ya know.... I rip it. CUTE!! Sooo my first adventure will be to go buy a new and more reliable carry on! Woo!

OOPS!

Peave, love & MY BAD.

The Game of Life

I am excited to share that my post-college "Game of Life" has begun and TODAY I start my journey as a TLC. To celebrate my own going away I have decided to "launch" this blog because apparently everyone else is doing it and its the cool thing to do....

Feel free to ignore this link every time I post it via social media, or feel free to stay up to date with the airport critter watch, my journey and other adventures as a I travel to schools all over the nation and meet women of Zeta Tau Alpha!

Pack Rat

It's taken me three days to pack. Not because I am a procrastinator, but because my luggage is 55 pounds and each day I have forced myself to remove some clothing items to get it down to the lucky number ~*50*~. I don't really understand how to pack three months of life in a 50 pound bag, but I am figuring it out.

Here are a few things that I refuse to leave Texas without:
  • My mini steamer, my cowboy boots and luggage scale
  • My tiny ke$h inspired glitter horned frog
  • A pillow case, my jewelry and four toothbrushes
  • My TLC kit made especially for me by my best friend (it included things like ear plugs, Emergen-C, a tide to go pen, etc), Nicole, who traveled as a consultant for a semester in the spring. You can view her journey here <- ha-mature blog move making a link!
  • TCU gear - Although I did have to sacrifice the foam finger - wahh :(
  • MY FLAT FRIENDS (they've been to London, with Nicole on her travels, and now they are along for my adventures)!!!!

I just did my final weigh in and my luggage is at 48.9 pounds! One pound to spare - WOO! This means no shopping for the next three months.

Peace, love & back problems!

I'm A Big Girl Now

Hey y'all. Blogs are what seem to be "in" right now, and because I am just so with-it in the trend world (ha!) I decided to attempt my own. I am a recent graduate of Texas Christian University (Go Frogs!!) who is about to begin the journey of a lifetime. Lots of people have asked me "What's next?"... Well, starting Saturday I will begin my JOB (what?!) traveling with Zeta Tau Alpha as a Traveling Leadership Consultant. You might wonder - what exactly does that mean? Well, there is no exact job description for my position. The only known detail of this job is that I will be traveling to different Zeta chapters at various college campuses all over the U.S. where I will meet collegians and be a resource for them... kind of the perfect position for me anyway since I don't plan anything and handle life as it comes my way. I do not know where I am going yet and I have no district or region, so I could end up ANYWHERE. I am anxious, but SO excited to begin my adventures as a TLC.

For those of you that know me and are thinking.. you, alone on the road, away from Texas!?...
1. Yes, I am leaving the #2 for a year
2. Yes, my suitcase is over 50 pounds and I am too attached to all of the small things to get rid of some baggage
3. NO, I will not be attending ANY TCU football games all season... WHAT!?
4. Yes, I am sacrificing seeing Hanson in Dallas on September 16th
5. And No, I don't know how to navigate my way around anywhere, but I WILL figure it out, even if it means taking laps around an airport or driving circles around a new place

Peace, love & AdULtZ!

P.S. I hope reading this was worth your break at work or tuning your teacher out in class ;) XOXO!
