HaLOLoween 2013

My LEAST favorite holiday ever is HALLOWEEN.

I hate that people look forward to this day every year to scare people and children. Why do some feel the need to smear blood all over their face and wear hideous masks? No. It's not fun or funny. It's gross and creepy. Ew.

BUT enough of my rant, this year I got to spend this ridiculous day of celebration in New York City!

During my travels I met a collegian who previously attended NYU who told me about a Parade in the West Village that we should check out. After my friend, Katie got off work, we walked a few blocks to 6th Avenue and posted up to see what freaks come alive in the city on October 31st.

This is what we saw.....

1. A LEGIT parade with floats, creepy skeleton things on sticks, SO MANY CRITTERS in costume and more
2. A crayon on the subway (there were WAY more people dressed in costume, I was too scared to take pics)
3. A MINION ON A FLOAT
 4. A night club in motion - complete with females dancing with zero morales and a DJ
Such a fun evening and I still have three days to enjoy FALL here in NYC.

Here I Am

"You better get to blogging, people are having withdrawl" - Sandy Baxter

No need to fret people, I have returned back to the road from my Natural Habitat AKA Texas!!!

I spent the First Half of my Break doing my thang as a TCU alumni, Hanging with my people and spending time with my Family!

My first day back I had three priorities:
1. Go visit my home away from home for 4 years, SDS
2. Eat in good ole' MARKET SQUARE

3. Reunite with my Girl & see my People!

In addition to checking off my to-do list:
-I got the INFAMOUS picture with THE Luke Leon Harville (a friend from undergrad who has LEFT HIS MARK at TCU) that everyone else except me as taken!

- I got to see Samuel's legacy that he is beginning to build EVERYWHERE on TCU Frogs For The Cure flyers around campus -- TCU is trying to win $25,000 for Susan G. Komen -- CLICK THE LINK AND GO VOTE TO HELP THEM OUT!!

AND BEST OF ALL - I got to SEE THE FROGS PLAY.
GARY PATTERSON, LIVE IN THE FLESH.

Not only did I get to see the Frogs play, but I experienced my first LEGIT "Rain Delay" game. You can bet that all three Baxter children stayed for the WHOLE entire game. Lance came prepared with a poncho for us three children. When he handed me my poncho upon arrival I knew leaving the game even it it hurricaned was NOT an option.

After the weekend, I was reunited with my BOYS at the Pumkin Patch!!

We fed some cows.
& Got photobombed by P.

OH AND MET THIS CRITTER with a sweet GOATee.

Sorry about the LACK OF BLOGGING these past few days. All people usually talk about is how us "young people" don't put down our phones and the one time I LIVE and ENJOY REAL LIFE not distracted by my phone, computer, twitter, instagram, etc people miss #abbeypartyofone being a part of their technological life.

Ain't nobody got time to blog when TCU football is LIVE & I get to interact with my sibs and friends not via some sort of technology.

Peace, Love & HERE I AM!

HELLLP

The time has come. I have to pack 3 months of "stuff" to head back to the Lone Star State. I have been extremely cautious during my travels NOT to purchase anything. If you refer to my "ripped zip" post forever ago, you will remember that I had absolutely NO room to pack ANYTHING else. Somehow... I feel like I have twice as much stuff than I did when I left in July.

I have had a "home base" for the past three months in Rockhill, SC, so every time I have traveled to a new place, I have only taken a fraction of my stuff. Somehow that fraction still exceeds the airline weight limit.

Now I will whistle while I work and make everything fit.

Woof

There's nothing like being SO "socially excellent" that I become a local DOG WALKER.

Not really, but really. Everyone meet my new furry friend, Reagan.

I have no words. But I loved today.

Sunday Funday

Today I spent my Sunday downtown Charlotte, NC at the Bank ofAmerica Stadium passing out Pink Ribbons at the NC Panthers NFL game!

Zeta is partnered with 28 out of the 33 NFL teams during their annual Pink Out game (the Cowboys are one of the teams NOT partnered...cool Jerry)
&
TODAY, Zeta celebrated their 15 year partnership with the NFL with the pinning of the 5 MILLIONTH ribbon and I got to be a part of it!!

TWO CELEBS were thinkin' pink!

Mr. Carrot

Once again I cannot express how PROUD and GRATEFUL I am to be a part of such an amazing organization!!

This Friday two of my roomies invited me to THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE FAIR!

Although this fair was miniature compared to the one that I am used to & doesn't have Big Tex, the fried food and exhibits remain constant (nerdy sentence?).

I got to see a GIANT sand sculpture.

A FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUND PUMPKIN!!!

RIDE A DANG ELEPHANT!!! -- THAT FARTED IN ROUTE.

AND see one of my FAVORITE bands, Needtobreathe!!

Not to mention, Timmy Tim happened to be there as well!!

Thankful for my siZTAs here in SC who take me along on fun adventures!!

Peace, Love & TGIF

These past 7 days I have experienced SEC life at the University of Missouri, aka Mizzou.

I had a very busy visit and had so much fun.

1. I got to stay in another amazing ZTA house with a chef and sweet house mom

2. I got to see Thomas Jefferson's Original Tombstone..who knew that this was on Mizzou's campus?

3. One of my favorite McCollough sisters was in town visiting a friend and she was able to stop by and say hey!

4. I made it to the HEART of Homecoming, where I was taken to the farm to learn/experience the INTENSITY of the homeland of where homecoming got started back in 1910.

POMP POMP POMP IT UP.

First you take this tiny piece of tissue paper & fold it in half.

Then, you roll it around this lollipop stick and lick it, which is SALTY.

Then you dab the end in glue and paste it onto a wooden board, which eventually will be a tissue paper mural/masterpiece - see my workspace below

There are still two more weeks until showtime, but I was able to see the base of the float

& the paper mache horses that were being constructed.
Apparently they will be going on this float which will look like a horse track and THE HORSES WILL BE ANIMATED...if only  could stay to see it in action!!

5. I also donated blood in THE LARGEST BLOOD DRIVE in the nation to help Zeta earn some extra points - and no, I wasn't scared because MMMBOP played over the loud speakers, which got my blood PUMPIN' and my girls were by my side ;)

6. I attended Marriage & Family, Mizzou style with 180+ students (I had maybe 24 in my class at TCU)...CRAY!

7. I explored downtown on my daily walks

8. I explored campus

9. I witnessed 83 new members becoming official Zeta Tau Alphas

10. I flew out of St. Louis and had the opportunity to reunite with my college roomie for the morning and see the Arch & Busch Stadium!!

Now I am headed back to South Carolina!

Peace, Love & See Ya Midwest
