Sunday Funday

Yesterday I woke up at 4:00am to Volunteer at the Kansas City Susan G. Komen - Race for the Cure for Zeta Tau Alpha's philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness.

The Race started at Union Station, downtown KC and the runners got to run a sweet route (down by the Sprint center and by Power and Light).

Back at home we are involved with both the Dallas Race for the Cure (which is in a couple of months on October 19th) and the Fort Worth Race for the Cure (Next spring on April 16th). It was so cool to see that the same amazing event goes on all around the country and that there are hundreds of people that work together to make it happen. I love that no matter where they are, members of Zeta Tau Alpha participate and stay true to serving our philanthropy.

Really clear picture, I know ;) -- but please look at the SWEET pink building.

As a Volunteer I had the opportunity to stand at the finish line and pass out roses to the survivors as they crossed that line. It was such an incredible opportunity seeing loved ones grab hands and celebrate as they completed those three miles. The survivors have fought a hard fight, some of them once, some of them are fighting for their third, fourth or fifth time. Seeing them not give up and continue to fight was such a humbling experience.

Oh & I also made a new friend, Maverick!!

Now everyone CALL YOUR DOCTOR and schedule an appointment to GO GET A MAMMOGRAM!

Peace, Love & Consultant for the Cure
