Happy Monday from me, celebrating COLUMBus day in COLUMBia!!

At a school 27 miles from the  CAPITAL...who is shocked that I made an appearance in good ole' Jefferson City, Missouri.

This trip to the capital was a little different the rest. I MADE IT INSIDE & not only did a get an internal glimpse of this beauty, I was with a VIP. A past Missouri Senate Member's daughter AKA, the ZTA PREZ!! Yeah, Yeah.. she will be signing autographs later.

The art inside of this place was a BEAUT.
Below is the Missouri crest/emblem/seal on the floor. It is blocked off so people can't walk on it, because it started to flatten out over time from being stepped on over and over again.
I made it by the Govenor's office, but he was out since it was a holiday.
While exploring, I had the chance to peek into the Senate.

(this pic was taken creepin' through a window ^)

As we continued wandering the halls, WE FOUND AN OPEN DOOR AND WALKED ON INSIDE.
Posing by the column was fine, but then peer pressure happened and I fell for it and snuck into a seat.
You'd think with these signs posted everywhere, I would've been a little more careful...since these made me feel really safe and all...NOT!
Statues inside were cool, I recognized a couple of the people in bronze form.
Mr. Dred Scott
& Mr. Harry Truman STARING ME DOWN

Okay, THE STATUES OUTSIDE and surrounding DECOR at this capital WAS BY FAR MY FAVORITE.

This little lady waves you on in

Thomas Jefferson greets you as you walk in, and then a replica of the liberty bell awaits as you exit.

As well as this critter fountain.
And this....

As we kept wandering around outside, we found THE FAMOUS LEWIS & CLARK friends....I was THRILLED at this find because I actually knew about these men and their expedition.

SO THANKFUL for my field trip to the capital, and even more grateful for my new friends!!

Peace, Love & CAPITAL NUMBER 5!!

Third Times A Charm

This morning I celebrated survivors at Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure  in Columbia, Missouri!

I have had the opportunity to attend three races so far during my travels and let me tell you one thing. These men and women are fighters people!! From state to state, hearing stories of courage, strength, and determination of these survivors and fighters is inevitable. If I have learned anything form these experiences, it is to count my blessings and GET MAMMOGRAMS regularly - and YOU should TOO!! I am proud to be part of an organization that is contributing to such an important cause.

Rain or Shine, Mizzou Zeta's are fighting for a CURE!
Meet my new friend, Truman
 MASCOT for the CURE!!!
Oh and here I am, SOLO in the PHOTO BOOTH...with this NOT so creepy Burger King mascot head...why why why.

I am proud and humbled.
Sign up for a race near you!!

Peace, Love  & Consultant For The Cure

Oh and HAPPY HOMECOMING FROGS!!

X'd

Woke up this morning with the infamous "X's" on my hands. Yeah, that's right. I went "out" last night. Not to be a collegian again, but as A CHAPERONE. dun dun dunnnnn.

If you look closely, you'll notice I have colored X's for over 21. Under had black. EVERYONE had to be X'd. No exceptions. A major #TBT. I loved my ten minute delay in my morning routine that I spent scrubbing these bad boys clean.

First, let me just say.. God. Bless. Advisors.
I was never that girl in undergrad who was the one that everyone had to look after constantly...But being on the "other other side" of things (not an EC member, sober monitor, etc, but being THE "adult") & understanding the liablity...I just can't even begin to explain the TERRIFIED feelings that I had for this night. It doesn't matter if everyone is sober. Having to keep an eye on 200+ people freely roaming at an outdoor venue. I can't.

Second, picture this.
College girls. College boys. A Hay Ride. A Fire. Alcohol. More Alcohol.
Not an ideal consultant job for the evening. But, TO MY SURPRISE, this night was a BLAST! People were responsible and respectful and I got to enjoy a "Date Party" SEC style and experience how another group rounds up their chapter and their dates to make for a safe and successful night.

To any advisors for ANY sorority. Thanks for ALL that you do!! We couldn't do what we do without you, and I know 9/10 no one stops and appreciates your time and dedication.

During my daily walk I discovered that even the garbage truck knows to wear pink during the month of October!!

It's pretty awesome that people all around the US, even garbage trucks, support Breast Cancer Awareness month!

F'Real

So...I am thinking this might be my first robot sighting. This smoothie/milkshake machine was the weirdest/coolest/istilldon'tknowhowifeelaboutit machine.

Step One: Open the fridge and choose your flavor (there is no magical claw that does it for you)

Step Two: Touch the touch screen and select what you are making

Step Three: Place the cup in the little metal cup and choose the thickness

Step Four: Watch it be mixed

Step Five: Drink and be merry

I feel the need to blog about this to 1. Teach anyone that encounters this in the future how to do it, because I had to phone a friend to figure it out and 2. This is an innovative find and I have to make note of it.

Happy Sunday Everyone!!!

Peace, Love & Shake It Up

PS I am going to use PINK FONT for the whole month of October in honor of it being Breast Cancer Awareness Month
