At a school 27 miles from the CAPITAL...who is shocked that I made an appearance in good ole' Jefferson City, Missouri.
This trip to the capital was a little different the rest. I MADE IT INSIDE & not only did a get an internal glimpse of this beauty, I was with a VIP. A past Missouri Senate Member's daughter AKA, the ZTA PREZ!! Yeah, Yeah.. she will be signing autographs later.
The art inside of this place was a BEAUT.
Below is the Missouri crest/emblem/seal on the floor. It is blocked off so people can't walk on it, because it started to flatten out over time from being stepped on over and over again.
I made it by the Govenor's office, but he was out since it was a holiday.
While exploring, I had the chance to peek into the Senate.
(this pic was taken creepin' through a window ^)
As we continued wandering the halls, WE FOUND AN OPEN DOOR AND WALKED ON INSIDE.
Posing by the column was fine, but then peer pressure happened and I fell for it and snuck into a seat.
You'd think with these signs posted everywhere, I would've been a little more careful...since these made me feel really safe and all...NOT!
Statues inside were cool, I recognized a couple of the people in bronze form.
Mr. Dred Scott
& Mr. Harry Truman STARING ME DOWN
Okay, THE STATUES OUTSIDE and surrounding DECOR at this capital WAS BY FAR MY FAVORITE.
This little lady waves you on in
Thomas Jefferson greets you as you walk in, and then a replica of the liberty bell awaits as you exit.
As well as this critter fountain.
And this....
As we kept wandering around outside, we found THE FAMOUS LEWIS & CLARK friends....I was THRILLED at this find because I actually knew about these men and their expedition.
SO THANKFUL for my field trip to the capital, and even more grateful for my new friends!!
Peace, Love & CAPITAL NUMBER 5!!
